Spain will meet Turkey in Thursday's semi-final after beating Portugal in their last group match. With two victories in their opening games, Gines Meléndez's side only needed a draw to be sure of going through, and Jesé and Paco both went close early on. The scores remained level though until ten minutes from the end, when Barcelona's Gerard Deulofeu picked up a pass from Aitor Castro on the left wing and cut past a defender to beat Pereira from a wide angle. Five minutes later the keeper had to push a shot by Edu round the post, and Gerard swung the resulting corner over his head in to the far corner of the net. Spain were in to the semi-finals as group champions, and they look to be on track to regain the title they won twice in the last three years.
