Spain took the bronze medal in the under 17 World Cup after a 1-0 victory over Colombia. The two sides had already met twice in Madrid in warm-up games for this competition, and they knew each other fairly well. The best chances didn't come though until late on, Sergi Gómez clearing an effort off the line before Isco got the only goal of the game after his first shot was blocked.
Atlético Madrid's Borja was unable to covert a couple of chances before that, but he had the consolation of being the tournaments top scorer with five goals. Later in the evening Switzerland beat hosts Nigeria 1-0 in the final to take the gold medal.
