Hosted Peace Cup, with fixtures against Juventus 24/07, L 1-2 and Seongnam 26/07, D 0-0 (see below), and put together a last minute friendly against Olympique Lyon in Coria on 30/07 after both were eliminated, W 1-0 (Chevantón). Fitted in game against regional side Chiclana 05/08, W 0-7 (Romaric 3, Alfaro 2, Chevantón, Koné), then played in triangular tournament in Palermo together with Mallorca on 08/08, L 1-0 vs Mallorca (Mario Suárez), L 1-0 vs Palermo(Miccoli). Coruña 64th edition of the tournament scheduled again this summer. Mexican side Tigres de Monterrey pulled out late on, and Newcastle also turned them down, so played one match against Atlético Madrid to decide the winners. Cádiz Cádiz once again hosted this prestigious trophy, which this year celebrated it's 55th edition. Real Madrid hosted this tournament once again. Italian giants AC Milan scheduled to play on 25th, but clash with Atlético's Champions League qualifier meant game has to be played a day earlier. Milan couldn't make it, so Rosenborg replaced them. Madrid won 4-0, with goals from Benzema (2), Lass and Raúl. |
