Atlético Madrid will play Sevilla in this season's Spanish cup final despite losing 3-2 on the night to Racing Santander. The four goal lead from the first leg had virtually sealed the tie, and although a second minute Valera own goal gave the home side a slim hope, Atlético levelled the scores soon afterwards when Moratón also put through his own net.
Six minutes after the restart Jurado extended the visitors' lead after Agüero put him through, and any hopes the Cantabrians had ended when Christian was sent off after catching Ibrahima with his arm. Even so Racing kept on to the end, and they defended their honour with late goals by Xisco and Tchité which at least gave them the victory on the night.
