Deportivo La Coruña needed a victory against Nancy to ensure their passage through to the knock-out stage, and when closest rivals Lech Poznan took the lead at Feyenoord the Galicians were temporarily out of the top three in group H.

Lotina's side had their problems in the first half, and Aranzubia had to keep out a dangerous free kick early on. Lafita and Bravo both wasted chances, and Zerka went close for the visitors a couple of times either side of half time.

Lafita tested Bracigliano after the restart, but with the game slipping away Lotine turned to Bodipo and Riki. And a few minutes later Riki combined with Bravo to set up Bodipo for him to beat the keeper on the near post. Juan Rodríguez could have increased the lead, but Depor had done just enough to scrape through as second in their group.
