A thrilling match in La
Coruña, where Deportivo won through on the penalty shoot out against
Brann. Lotina's side had to overcome a 2-0 first leg result, and when Colotto
headed in Riki's corner early on they appeared to be on their way. But soon
afterwards they were left with ten men when Riki picked up two bookings in
quick succession.
Even so Depor had most of
the play, with Lafita and Bravo leading the attack. Mista came on for Bravo in
the second half and went close with a header, Guardado brought a good save out
of the keeper, and Verdú and Mista tried their luck after that.
The game went in to extra
time though, and the Norwegians almost won it when a long cross from Bakke hit
the post before bouncing back at Aranzubia. But in the end it was all down to
penalties, and Aranzubia pulled out three great saves to win the day. European
football is back at the Riazor! |
