Deportivo will be in tomorrow's UEFA Cup first round draw after beating Hajduk Split 0-2 in their second leg match. Following the goalless draw in the Riazor a fortnight ago, the Galicians needed to score to go through. However only a couple of good saves from Aranzubia prevented the Croatians from taking the lead early on. Depor's confidence grew though as the first half wore on, and Riki put them ahead shortly before the break after Valerón and Filipe Luis combined to set him up.

Hajduk now needed two goals to turn the scoreline around, and for a few minutes they put up a fight. But a second yellow card for Andric left them a man short midway through the second half, and after that the Spanish side took control. Riki should have added a second and Lopo brought a good save out of Subasic with a well placed header, and with three minutes to go Verdú wrapped things up from the penalty spot after he was tripped by Maloca in the area.

Depor were also left with ten men when De Guzman was sent off for a second bookable offence, but the game ended soon afterwards. Lotina's side were back in Europe, and they now look forward to Friday's draw.
