Spain drew 1-1 with Norway in a friendly match which gave new coach López Caro another chance to try out fresh faces prior to the European finals this summer.
However despite the inclusion of full internationals Bojan, Mata and Capel they could only score from the penalty spot, Mata converting the kick after the Valencia forward was brought down by Forren early on. Bojan and Mata went close before that, and Forren and San José both tried their luck from corners at each end before the break.
The Scandinavian side equalised after the restart when Azpilicueta headed past his own keeper trying to clear a long free kick under pressure from Forren. And after that the string of changes with players who hardly know each other meant the scoreline remained unmoved.
