Spain got off to a convincing start in their Elite group qualifiers with a 5-1 win over the Czech Republic. Espanyol's Oscar Sielva opened the scoring with a shot from outside of the area, and Celta's Joselu added the second shortly before the break. Arsenal's Fran Mérida made it three after the restart with a well struck free kick, and although Misun got one back, late strikes from Murcia's Dani Aquino and Juventus's Iago Falqué wrapped things up.
