Spain are out of the under 19 European Championships! A team packed with the latest crop of talented youngsters were unable to score against Hungary, and a strike with 20 minutes to go by Nagy after a shaky De Gea dropped a cross at his feet was enough to give the East Europeans a 0-1 victory.
A curious paradox that, just when the full national side have finally cast off their epithet of perennial under-achievers, the usually dominant youth team bow out in ignominious circumstances. Oh well, you can't win 'em all! Spain still have something to play for though, a win or a draw in their last game against Bulgaria giving them third spot in their group and a place in next summer's under 20 World Cup.
