La Oratava, Tenerife. Spain finished top of their group after drawing 1-1 with England in their last match. Ginés Meléndez's side had some problems though after Hurst gave their opponents an early lead with an effort which Blázquez deflected past his own keeper. And despite having Frimpong and Oshodi sent off for double bookable offences, England held on until two minutes from the end, when Fryers turned Golobart's cross in to his own net. Spain ended the first stage with seven points, England are also through with five, and Estonia beat Armenia 1-0 in the other group game to finish third.
