Spain drew 1-1 with Norway in a friendly match which gave new coach López Caro another chance to try out fresh faces prior to the European finals this summer. However despite the inclusion of Bojan, Mata and Capel they could only score from the penalty spot, Mata converting the kick after the Valencia forward was brought down by Forren early on. The Scandinavian side equalised after the break when Azpilicueta headed past his own keeper trying to clear a long free kick.

Spain's under 19 side also played today, beating England in a friendly international in Bournemouth on Tuesday evening. (10.02.09)
