UEFA Cup, league stage, day 3
Good results for the three
Spanish sides in action on the third day of the league stage of the UEFA Cup
(Sevilla were resting). Valencia won 0-4 at Rosenborg,
with Mata heading in the first before the break, and Pablo Hernández,
Baraja and Joaquín adding three more after the restart.
Deportivo got their
campaign back on track after their defeat on the opening day, a 3-0 victory
over Feyenoord taking them up to third in their group. Lopo got the
first, and a Hofland own goal and a Guardado strike in a one minute period
early in the second half wrapped things up.
And Racing Santander
came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Paris Saint Germain,
keeping alive their options in the most difficult group of the round. Kezman
and Luyindula gave the French side an early lead, but a Traoré own goal
and a spectacular strike from Colsa saved an important point. (27.11.08)
