Spanish national squads

Cesc Fábregas returns to Spain's squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Bosnia and Armenia which take place in Murcia and Albacete in a few days time. The Arsenal midfielder was injured for Vicente Del Bosque's first game in charge against Denmark a couple of weeks ago, but is now fit after playing for his side in Europe midweek. De la Red drops out, as do Amorebieta and also Bojan Krkic, who returns to the under 21 side for Spain's European qualifiers against Kazakhstan and Russia.

Bojan, who celebrated his 18th birthday this week, has yet to play for the full Spanish side, and Serbia coach Radomir Antic put the cat amongst the pigeons saying that the player could still play for his father's country instead. The Barcelona striker confirmed though that he was committed to playing for Spain. Coach López Caro has also called up Bojan's team mate Pedro, as well as Osasuna's Azplicueta and Recreativo's César Arzo. The squads are as set out below. (29.08.08)

PS. Bojan has been recalled to the full squad to replace the injured Fernando Torres, and Espanyol's José Callejón has been called up to the under 21 squad to replace Bojan. Dani Parejo (QPR) and Susaeta (Athletic) were also drafted in after Jurado and Pereira pulled out with knocks. (01.09.08)

PPS. Pereira was recalled and Mallorca's Mario Suárez was also drafted in to the under 21 squad for the second match against Russia after several players picked up one match bans. (08.09.08)
