A winning start for Spain's new coach Vicente Del Bosque, his side running out 0-3 winners in a friendly game against Denmark. The match was overshadowed though by the tragic air crash in Madrid earlier in the day in which over 150 people lost their lives, and a minute's silence was observed before kick off as a mark of respect. All the goals came after the break, Xabi Alonso combining with his Liverpool team mate Fernando Torres to open the scoring, and Xavi making it two a few minutes later after picking up a cross from debutant Diego Capel. The Sevilla winger set up Xabi Alonso for his second of the night near the end, and there was still time for Cazorla to hit the post before the final whistle. Nobody was celebrating though, and all thoughts were for the victims and their families in Madrid. (20.08.08)
