2008-09 season fixture list

The fixture list for next season was published today (see links below for details). The season kicks off on the weekend of 31st August, with champions Real Madrid visiting Deportivo in their first game. Madrid go to the Nou Camp on 14th December for the big "derby" match with Barcelona, who themselves open their season in Soria against second division champions Numancia. The start though may be delayed if the players' association go through with a threatened strike in protest at the ever increasing use by clubs of Spanish bankruptcy laws to avoid having to meet their financial obligations.
