Valerón. Picked up pass from Riki and beat Anon.
Deportivo will be in next
Friday's UEFA Cup qualifying round draw after a 3-1 aggregate win over Bnei
Sakhnin. Defending a one goal advantage from the first leg, Miguel Angel
Lotina's side controlled the game from the start. Riki and Lopo went close and
Riki failed to beat Alon after Valerón set him up, but with five minutes
to go to the break Valerón ran on to Riki's through ball to open the
scoring. And Valerón could have added a second minutes later had Alon
not been on his toes.
Up to that point the Israeli
side had only tested Fabricio once with a weak shot from Luzon. And although
the young keeper did have some work to do late on with a couple of saves from
Hamad Ghanayim, the result was never in doubt. Lotina used the occasion to give
a run out to three of his new signings later on, Ze Castro, Mista and Omar
Bravo, Valerón going off to rousing applause from the crowd after his
first start in a long time. All will be hoping that his long string of injuries
is finally over. |
