Atlético Madrid made
sure of the place in the knock-out stage after beating Copenhagen 0-2.
Cléber and Motta both tested Christiansen before Simao picked up a
return pass from Agüero to open the scoring in the twentieth minute. But
the Danish side fought back before the break, with Allback in particular going
close.
A few minutes after the
restart Agüero brought a good save out of Christiansen, and soon
afterwards the Argentinian striker ran on to Motta's ball out of midfield to
round the local keeper and score. After that the Spanish side controlled the
game, and Abbiati was only really put to work by a long shot from Kvist.
A good result, and the next
objective is to beat Panathinaikos in the last game to top the group and avoid
having to a play a side dropping down from the Champions League.
