Two late goals from Luis García helped Atlético Madrid to a 4-0 win over Erciyesspor. Javier Aguirre's side got off to a good start, with Mista and Forlán putting them two up in the first quarter of an hour after Yusuf could only push out shots from Jurado and Luis García. But after that they slowed down, and Abbiati had to make a couple of important saves to keep the visitors from getting an away goal. The home crowd started to get impatient, and once again there were many whistles and boos before Luis García got the two goals which virtually ensures his side a place in the league stage of the competition.
