Spain kicked off this
season's European Championship with a 2-0 victory over Switzerland. Juan
Santiesteban's side had the better chances before the break, in particular
Thiago bringing a good save out of Borkovic before the break. And twelve
minutes in to the second half Valencia's Sergi opened the scoring, beating the
keeper from close to goal after Alvaro López set him up. Soon afterwards
Sergi got his second of the evening after picking up a pass from Keko, and he
could have completed a hat-trick had he not shot over the top when free in
front of goal. |
