Euro 2008
Spain 2 - Greece 1
Spain's reserve
players beat defending champions Greece in their last group match to
finish with three wins out of three. Already sure of first place in the group,
Aragonés made ten changes to his side to rest his players for their
quarter final with Italy. Greece took advantage though to open the scoring,
Charisteas heading a Karagounis free kick past Reina shortly before half time.
But De la Red blasted a shot past Nikopolidis to equalise after the restart,
and with two minutes to go to the end Güiza got on the end of Sergio
García's cross to head home the winner. (18.06.08) |
