Euro 2008
Spain 2 - Sweden 1
An injury time goal from
David Villa gave Spain a belaboured 2-1 win over Sweden in their
second group match. Fernando Torres had given Luis Aragonés's side the
lead on the quarter hour mark, but Ibrahimovic equalised and the game appeared
to be heading for a draw until Villa ran on to a long clearance from Capdevila
to beat Isaksson. Russia's win over Greece later in the evening meant that
Spain are sure of finishing top of their group, and their last match against
the already eliminated reigning champions will be a mere formality. (14.06.08)
