Champions League, semi finals, first leg
Barcelona 0 - Manchester United 0
Barcelona's only hope
of a trophy this season were kept alive after a score-less draw in the first
leg of their Champions League semi-final against Manchester United. It
looked as if they were going to struggle though when the visitors were awarded
a penalty in only the second minute after Milito handled in the area, but
Cristian Ronaldo fired his spot kick wide. With Messi and Deco in the starting
line-up for the first time in several weeks Frank Rijkaard's side had most of
the possession after that, but they were unable to break down a well ordered
defence, Eto'o putting the best chance wide after the restart and Henry
bringing a couple of late saves out of Van der Sar. Everything though will be
decided next Tuesday at Old Trafford. (23.04.08) |
