Second division - day 18
Only three games on Sunday,
with Numancia moving back above Málaga after beating
Córdoba 2-1. Toché got the winner near the end after
Juanlu had equalised an early goal from Julio Alvarez. Earlier in the day
Celta beat Grananda 74 to move up to fifth in the table.
Jesús Perera got two and Quincy and Mario Suárez added two more
before Aranda's consolation penalty in injury time. Elsewhere Albacete
climbed to the brink of escaping the drop zone after beating
Castellón 2-0. (23.12.07)
Málaga are
back on top of the table after beating Sevilla Atlético 3-0 on
Saturday evening. All the goals came in the last quarter of an hour, with
Hidalgo and Salva scoring within a minute of each other and Salva getting the
third in the last minute. And Sporting Gijón hold on to third
spot after a 3-2 win over Alavés. Barral, Diego Castro and Omar
appeared to have wrapped things up with three goals around half time, but
second half strikes from Mena and Aganzo set up an exciting finish.
Elche remain just two
points behind the Asturians after a 2-1 victory over Poli Ejido, Fajardo
getting a late winner after an early Noel-Williams goal was cancelled out by
Moreno. And Real Sociedad are just a point behind David Vidal's team
after coming from behind to beat Tenerife 2-1. Elustondo and Díaz
de Cerio got the goals in the second half to overturn Nino's twentieth minute
strike. Hércules lost ground on the chasing pack though after
they were held to a 0-0 draw by bottom club Las Palmas.
There were eight Saturday
games in all in the last weekend before the Christmas break, with
Cádiz moving safely up to mid-table after a late Gastón
Casas goal gave them a 0-1 win at Gimnàstic. Nàstic stay
three points above the drop zone after Racing Ferrol lost 0-2 to
Salamanca, and Xerez drew 3-3 against Eibar. It was a
brave performance though by the Andalusians, who fought back from three down to
save a point with ten men. (22.12.07) |
