Second division - day 7
Numancia consolidated
third spot with a 1-3 win against fourth placed Racing Ferrol on Sunday
lunchtime, Moreno getting two of the goals including a second half penalty
after Del Pino had opened the scoring for the Soria based side.
Gimnastic lost further ground on the leaders though after they were
beaten 1-2 by Elche later in the evening. David Vidal's side move above
the Catalans in the table as a result.
Cádiz also
drop down the table after a 1-2 defeat against Eibar, Zurutuza scoring
the winner for the Basque side in the last minute. Eibar's neighbours
Alavés also won in the last minute, Aganzo's goal giving them a
2-3 victory at Salamanca. It was their first victory of the season, and
they move above their opponents out of the relegation spots. Finally
Tenerife and Córdoba drew 0-0 in the last game of the
evening, leaving both safely in the middle of the field. (07.10.07)
Málaga's great
start to the season continues, and they extended their winning run to seven
games after beating Las Palmas 2-0. Baha and Iván Rosado got the
goals in the second half to leave the Canary Islanders further down in the drop
zone. Sporting Gijón stay in second place though after a 2-3
victory at Hércules. The Asturians twice took the lead before
Canella got the winner near the end. And Real Sociedad are up to fifth
pending Sunday's games after a 1-0 win over bottom club Albacete,
Garitano getting the only goal after the restart.
Celta moved up into
the top half of the table after beating Xerez 3-1. Yordi cancelled out
Canobbio's early strike, but late goals from Diego Costa and Mario
Suárez handed the three points to Hristo Stoichkov's side. The other two
matches on Saturday ended all square, Sevilla Atlético coming
from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Poli Ejido, and Granada 74
and Castellón both scoring in the last five minutes to make
it 1-1 at the finish. (06.10.07) |
