Second division - day 4
Málaga made it
four wins out of four after beating Castellón 2-3 on Sunday
lunchtime. Peragón, Baha and Hidalgo got the goals, although late
strikes by Nakor and Reggi put the result in doubt right up to the end. They
are two points ahead of three teams, including Hércules, who won
0-1 at Tenerife thanks to a Farinós penalty. Gimnastic
missed out though, a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Eibar allowing the
Basque side to catch them in the table.
A first win for Celta
at last, Antonio Nuñez getting the only goal in a 0-1 result at Poli
Ejido to take some pressure off coach Hristo Stoichkov. And their were
first victories too for two other sides, Córdoba beating
Sevilla Atlético 2-1 and Salamanca winning 3-1 against
Granada 74. All move away from the drop zone, leaving Albacete, Las
Palmas, Alaves and Xerez in the bottom four. (16.09.07)
Numancia head the
second division pending Málaga's game on Sunday after a 1-4 win at
Albacete. Moreno, Brit, Carmelo and Alvarez got the goals to leave their
opponents further down in the drop zone. Newly promoted Racing Ferrol
are level with Numancia on ten points though after a 0-1 victory at
Elche, Jonathan Pereira getting the only goal midway through the first
half.
Real Sociedad came
back from a goal down to beat Las Palmas 2-3, getting their revenge for
their midweek defeat in the cup. The Canary Islanders had their keeper sent off
in only the third minute, and strikes from Gerardo, Vaughan and Díaz de
Cerio turned the result around. Elsewhere Real's Basque neighbours
Alavés got their first point of the season with a 1-1 draw
against Cádiz, and Sporting Gijón continued their
good start with a 0-2 win at Xerez. (15.09.07) |
