Under 17 World Cup
Spain 1 - France 1 (5-4 penalty shoot out)
Spain reached the
semi-final of the competition after beating France in the penalty shoot
out. Le Tallec gave France the lead seven minutes in to the second half when he
turned Saivet's cross past De Gea, but a few minutes later Villarreal's Jordi
equalised, driving home Iago's cross after the keeper could only push out a
stinging shot from Bojan. De Gea was called upon to make a string of saves as
the game went in to extra time, and Bojan went close a couple of times before
Acapandie missed an open goal in the last second. It was all down to penalties,
and the Atlético Madrid keeper saved Bourgeois's third kick to take his
side through to a meeting with the winner of the tie between Ghana and Peru.
