Under 20 World Cup
Spain 4 - Brazil 2 (aet)
Spain came back from
two goals down to defeat former champions Brazil in the first knock-out
stage. The South Americans went ahead with goals from Lima and Pato late in the
first half, but Piqué scrambled one back before the break and Javi
García levelled the scores with a quickly taken free kick with only six
minutes to go. Bueno headed Spain in front from Capel's cross in extra time,
and after Lima was sent off for a second bookable offence the youngsters could
have score two or three more. Eventually though top scorer Adrián
López wrapped things up in the last minute to set up a quarter final tie
with the Czech Republic. (11.07.07) |
