Following up after keeper pushed out shot from Soldado.
Osasuna already had one foot
in the semi-finals after their three goal victory at Bayer Leverkusen in the
first leg, and a second half strike from Juanlu ensured a place in the last
four for the first time in their history.
The visitors needed to score
quickly to have any chance of qualifying, and for the first ten minutes or so
they pinned the Spaniards back in their own half. However Ricardo was hardly
troubled until Freier shot wide just before the break, and Soldado had a couple
of chances to put the locals ahead earlier on.
Monreal had to head off the
line from Callsen-Bracker soon after the restart, but a few minutes later
Juanlu gave his side the lead on the night after Adler could only push out
Soldado's shot. Cuéllar almost got a second later on, but by then the
game was over and Osasuna were through. The Pamplona based will meet Sevilla in
the next round, ensuring at least one Spanish club in next month's final in
Glasgow. |
