Osasuna are already
virtually through to the semi-finals for the first time in their history after
beating Bayer Leverkusen 0-3. Within seconds of the kick off Juanfran had
forced Adler into a good save, and Cuéllar headed his side into the lead
from the resulting corner. Soldado came close to scoring a second, but after
that the locals took control and pushed for the equaliser. They were unable to
create any clear cut chances though until Ricardo saved well from Juan after
the restart.
Ziganda decided to bring on
fresh legs, replacing Juanfran with Valdo, and warming up Webó. Before
the Cameroonian striker could come on David López got his side's second,
and just two minutes later Webó made it three with virtually his first
touch of the ball. Milosevic was the provider of both, and he should have added
his own name to the scorecard when he wasted two good chances later on. It
probably won't matter though, and Osasuna should wrap things up in Pamplona in
a week's time. |
