José Enrique. Fired shot back past keeper after corner not cleared.
Spain's new under 21 side
got off to a winning start in the opening game of the 2007-9 European
Championship qualifiers. Iñaki Sáez's team beat Georgia 0-1
thanks to a second half strike from Villarreal full back José Enrique
following a corner. Sisi and Jurado were a constant threat throughout the first
half, and Miguel Torres fired a shot just over the bar after the restart.
Barcelona's 16 year old striker Bojan Krkic came on midway through the second
half and also caused some problems for the local defence, although Spain ended
the game with ten men after José Enrique picked up a second booking near
the end. |
