An injury time goal from
Sevilla's Diego Capel saved a 2-2 draw for Spain in their opening group B match
against Uruguay. Gines Meléndez's side were up against it early on, and
Adán had to make a couple of first class saves from Luis Suárez.
Javi García tested Goicoechea at the other end, and Mario Suárez
shot over the bar, but otherwise the youngsters had few chances before the half
time whistle.
With the second half only
two minutes old Damián and Luis Suárez combined to set up Cavani
to put the South Americans ahead, and ten minutes later Luis Suárez made
it two after a good team move. Adrián López headed one back
though from a cross by his Deportivo team mate Barragán, and Capel fired
a last gasp equaliser in off the crossbar to leave the group all square after
the first round of matches. |
