Sarpsborg, Norway. Spain are
virtually through to the final stage of the competition after a 4-0 win over
Azerbaijan, who were playing in the "Elite" round for the first time in their
history. It was a flattering result though, and Ginés Meléndez's
side didn't master the rainy conditions until Diego Capel set up Aarón
to open the scoring shortly before half time. Mata finally got a second with a
quarter of an hour to go following Aarón's wide free kick, and
Adrián González made it three after good work by Aarón and
Mata. And with the game already in injury time Mata picked up a pass from
Aarón to beat four players and shoot into the roof of the net, his
fourth goal in the mini-tournament to date. |
