A great start for Spain in
the under 19 European championship, a 5-3 win over Turkey taking them to the
top of the group B table. Jeffrén hit the post before Real Madrid
striker Bueno started things off, getting on the end of Toni's free kick to
head past Babacan. Ilhan Parlak picked up a pass from Turan to equalise, but
Bueno's Madrid strike partner Juanma Mata restored the lead after Canella's
shot was blocked, and then added a third with a lob over the keeper from
outside of the area.
Spain went further ahead
nine minutes in to the second half when Barcelona's Toni latched on to a square
pass from Bueno, but the Turks fought back strongly, Ilhan adding his second of
the night with an individualist effort and Erding closing the gap to one goal
after Yilmaz set him up. But Mata forced his way through to complete his
hat-trick in injury time, rounding off a win for Ginés Meléndez's
side against one of the strongest teams in the group. |
