Second division - day 31
Valladolid are within
three victories of being mathematically promoted after beating struggling
Málaga 1-0 on Sunday evening. Toché got the goal late on
to make it 25 games without defeat, a result which sends the Andalusians down
in the bottom four. Earlier in the day Almería moved up above
Murcia to second after coming from behind to beat Sporting Gijón
1-2. Second half goals from Crusat and Acasiete cancelled out Diego
Castro's earlier strike, keeping them ten points behind the leaders but more
importantly ten points above fourth spot.
Ciudad Murcia also
came from a goal down to beat Tenerife 2-1 and hold on to that fourth
position. Díaz and Luque got the goals after Raúl Sánchez
had put the Canary Islanders ahead. Ciudad stay a point ahead of Xerez and
Numancia, who beat promotion rivals Cádiz 1-0 with a
strike from Julio Alvarez six minutes from the end. Salamanca lost out
on the chance to keep pace with the group though after throwing away a three
goal lead to draw 3-3 with Ponferradina.
Down at the bottom,
Vecindario appear to be doomed after another defeat, this time 1-0 to a
Poli Ejido side who move up to seventh. Castellón are out
of the relegation spots though to the detriment of the free falling
Málaga after beating Albacete 0-1, Nakor getting the only goal on
the quarter hour mark. Only five points separate eight sides however, and
Alavés are now only four points above the drop zone after losing
2-3 to Hércules. (01.04.07)
Second placed Real Murcia
took a step backwards in their push for promotion when they lost 1-0 to
Las Palmas on Saturday night. Second division top scorer Marcos
Márquez got the only goal for the Canary Islanders from the penalty spot
to take his side clear of the danger zone. Xerez are back up to fourth
after a 3-1 victory over Castilla, although they are still eight points
off the top three. The defeat leaves Michel's side just three points above the
relegation spots pending Sunday's games, a point ahead of Elche, who
were beaten 2-0 by struggling Lorca. (31.03.07) |
