Copa del Rey, quarter final, second leg
Betis 0 - Sevilla 1
Sevilla qualified
without too many problems for the semi-finals of the cup after the last 35
minutes of their postponed tie with city rivals Betis were played out
without further goals.
The match had been abandoned
three weeks ago early in the second half after visiting coach Juande Ramos was
knocked unconscious by a bottle thrown from the crowd, and the disciplinary
committee ruled that the remaining minutes had to be played out behind closed
doors at Getafe's ground in Madrid.
A Kanouté goal had
given Sevilla the lead shortly before the incident, and the goalless draw from
the first leg meant that Betis had to score twice to go through. In the end
though keeper Contreras was their best man, and Ramos's side will go into
Thursday's draw together with Barcelona, Deportivo and
Getafe. (20.03.07) |
