Youth international tournaments

Spain's under 16 and under 19 sides were in action over the last few days, both taking part in friendly tournaments.

Under 19 Atlantic Cup

Spain won the 33rd edition of the Atlantic international trophy, which takes place every winter in the Canary Islands. The youngsters beat Denmark 2-0 with strikes from Jeffren and Bueno, and then went on to draw 1-1 with the hosts, the Canary Islands. And in the last game Ginés Meléndez's side won 4-0 against the Czech Republic with goals from Modrego, Jeffren, Bueno and Azpilicueta to take the trophy once again. (10.02.07)

Under 16 Aegean Cup

Spain ended runners up to hosts Turkey in the "Aegean Cup Tournament", which took place at the end of January / beginning of February. Sides were separated into two groups, with Spain in group A paired with Ukraine, Norway and Greece, and Turkey in group B together with Romania, Slovakia and Belgium. The youngsters drew with Ukraine and beat Norway and Greece to top their group, but lost the final 0-1 to Turkey. (02.02.07)
