UEFA Cup, league stage, day 5
All four Spanish sides
qualified for the knockout stage after the last round of mini-league fixtures.
Espanyol finished with maximum points after beating Austria
Vienna 1-0 on Wednesday, Pandiani heading the only goal after the restart.
And Celta made it through in their difficult group with a 1-1 draw at
Palermo, Baiano putting them ahead in the second half before Tedesco
equalised late on.
The following day
Osasuna got the points they needed, David López scoring twice and
Juanfran getting the third in a 0-3 victory at Parma. Sevilla are
also through, although a 1-2 defeat against Alkmaar meant they only
finished second in their group. Chevantón gave them the lead from the
penalty spot early in the second half, but two goals from Arveladze handed them
their first ever loss in Europe in the Sánchez Pizjuan stadium.
