Second division, day 10
Real Murcia moved two
points clear at the top of the second division after beating Las Palmas
3-1. Antoñito put Lucas Alcaraz's side ahead with less than a minute on
the clock, and Tato added a second before Darino headed one back before the
break. Abel wrapped things up though in the second half, and the visitors
missed a penalty later on which had to be taken three times. Earlier in the day
Salamanca won 1-2 at Ponferradina to secure third spot. Quique
Martín and Braulio got the goals either side of half time, and although
Raponi scored late on it was not enough to prevent his side from dropping their
first points at home all season.
Málaga decided
to sack their manager Marcos Alonso after a 0-1 defeat at the hands of
Valladolid left them in fourteenth place in the table, Juan Carlos
Añon taking over as caretaker for the time being. Alvaro got the only
goal for the visitors in the second half. Cádiz coach Oli held on
to his job though, for a little while longer at least, after an early Nano
strike gave them a 1-0 win over Numancia. The defeat means that the
Soria based side drop into the relegation zone after Lorca beat fellow
strugglers Elche 0-2. (29.10.06)
Six matches in the second
division on Saturday, with leaders Xerez saving a point at
Castilla with a 1-1 draw. Camuñas scored the equalising goal late
on after Negredo had given the home side a first half lead. Albacete
stay in third spot for the time being after a dull 0-0 draw at
Castellón, but Tenerife are now level with them on points
after a last minute win against Ciudad Murcia, Angel Rodríguez
getting the only goal in injury time.
Sporting Gijón
lose ground on the leaders after a 2-0 defeat at Almería,
Ortíz and Corona scoring in each half to take their side away from the
danger zone. Hércules are out of the bottom four after beating
Alavés 3-1, strikes in the last half hour from Benítez,
Tote and Moisés cancelling out Aloisi's third minute goal. Managerless
Vecindario are further in trouble though, Pedro Vega scoring twice as
Poli Ejido thrashed them 0-4. (28.10.06) |
