Euro 2008 qualifier
Spain 4 - Liechtenstein 0
A comfortable win for
Spain in their opening European qualifying match, a 4-0 victory against
Liechtenstein taking them to the top of their group. Raúl and
David Villa combined down the left wing to set up Fernando Torres for the
opening goal in the twentieth minute, and Villa added the second himself on the
stroke of half time after Xabi Alonso had won the ball in midfield. Villa made
it three with a low free kick with just over an hour on the clock, and
substitute Luis García came on to get a fourth after controlling
Pernía's cross just three minutes later. (02.09.06) |
