Sevilla are the surprise winners of the European Supercup after beating European champions Barcelona 0-3. Renato headed the Andalusians into an early lead and Kanouté added a second on the stroke of half time. Frank Rijkaard brought on all his firepower in the second half, but they were unable to break down a well ordered defence and Maresca made it three from the penalty spot in the final minute.
