Sevilla join their city rivals Betis in the fourth round of the competition after beating Lokomotiv Moscow 2-0 in the Sánchez Pizjuán stadium. With a one goal lead from the first leg the hard work was already done, and although Kanouté dropped out of the line up after injuring himself in the warm up, the Andalusians had no problems seeing off their opponents.

Neither side had many chances until ten minutes before the break, when Maresca picked up a pass from Dragutinovic to beat Poliakov. Luis Fabiano could have had a second had the keeper not pushed his effort on to the post after the restart, and Notario was only in action to keep out Izmailov later on. With the game coming to end Antonio Puerta wrapped things up with a second goal, but his side were already thinking of the next round tie against Lille well before that.
