Callosa del Segura. Spain
got off to a good start in the Elite round of the European qualifiers, beating
Sweden comprehensively in their opening match. The youngsters dominated from
the start, with Sevilla's Diego Capel particularly active, but it was not until
shortly before half time that Manchester United's Piqué headed the
opening goal from Esteban Granero's corner.
Espanyol's Marc Pedraza
scored the second from close range midway through the second half, and
Albacete's César Díaz cut in to get a third before Pedraza
rounded things off in the closing minutes.
Germany beat Spain's next
opponents Cyprus 6-0 in the other group game, and it looks like everything will
go down to the last tie, when Spain meet Germany in Torrevieja on Tuesday
evening. |
