Second division, day 30
Recreativo moved back
to the top of the table after a 3-0 win over Racing Ferrol. All three
goals came in a six minute period in the second half, Casas, Uche and Rosu
scoring soon after Bourdeau was sent off for the visitors. Levante
failed to return to the promotion spots after they could only draw 0-0 at
Castilla earlier in the day, although they were happy to settle for a
point after keeper Cavallero was sent off in the first minute. A 0-0 draw as
well between Xerez and Sporting Gijón, leaving both
further away from the top spots. The locals have not won now in ten games.
Numancia are going
from strength to strength though, and they made it six homes win in a row after
beating Valladolid 3-2. Second half strikes from Llorente and Correa
cancelled out earlier goals from Montenegro and Rubén, but Montenegro
won it with a late penalty. Further down the table, Poli Ejido beat
Málaga B 0-1 to move away from the danger zone. Málaga B
are still next to bottom, and with their first team looking ever more likely to
be relegated as well, their hopes of staying up appear slim. Eibar are
also in trouble after losing 2-0 to fellow strugglers Castellón,
and they stay firmly anchored to the bottom of the table. (26.03.06)
Nàstic are the
overnight leaders of the second division after beating Elche 1-0 on
Saturday evening. The only goal of the game came late on when Pere Martí
headed Pinilla's corner back in to his own net, taking the Catalans above
Recreativo pending their game on Sunday. Almería moved up to
third in the table after a 1-0 win over Lorca, who themselves drop out
of the promotion spots as a result. Ortíz got the winner for Paco
Flores's side in the twentieth minute of the game.
Ciudad Murcia kept
their hopes of promotion alive after coming from behind to beat Lleida
3-1, and they move up the table to seventh. Luque, Gibanel and Kome got the
goals after Oscar Rubio had given the visitors the lead. Albacete and
Real Murcia cancelled each other out though in a 0-0 draw, and
Hércules moved away from the danger zone above Tenerife
after a 1-0 victory over the Canary Islanders, Moisés getting the only
goal from the penalty spot. (25.03.06) |
