Second division, day 29
Nàstic held on
to second place, just two points behind Recreativo, after a 1-1 draw at
Racing Ferrol. The Catalans played most of the second half with ten men
after Cuéllar was sent off and went behind to Pezzarossi strike, but
even though Pinilla missed a penalty, Jaio equalised near the end. Lorca
moved up to within a point of Nàstic after a 2-1 win over
Castilla earlier in the day, Maldonado getting both goals for the locals
in the first half with Javi García getting one for the visitors in
between. And Levante are level on points with Lorca after beating
Málaga B 2-1, an Ian Harte penalty and a Reggi strike putting the
Valencia based side ahead before Boselli pulled one back and Harte got himself
sent off just before the break.
There are only four points
between the top five though, Almería joining in the fray with a
0-1 victory at bottom club Eibar to stay a point behind Lorca and
Levante. Kalu Uche got the only goal of the game on the half hour mark.
Valladolid still have an outside chance of promotion as well though, and
they are now eight points off the top three after a Víctor penalty gave
them a 1-0 win over Castellón. Numancia's nine match
unbeaten run came to an end though after they lost 1-0 to Sporting
Gijón. Calandria getting the winner for the Asturians in the first
minute of the game. (19.03.06)
Leaders Recreativo
will remain top of the table at the end of the weekend, even though they were
held to a 0-0 draw at Poli Ejido on Saturday evening. They are now three
points clear of Nàstic, who play tomorrow, and six points ahead of three
sides, including Xerez, who drop out of the promotion spots after being
beaten 3-1 by Tenerife. Goals by Ricardo, Belli and Toni Moral were
enough to give the Canary Islanders a much needed win which keeps them clear of
the relegation zone for the time being.
A thrilling match at
Elche, where the hosts ran out 4-3 winners over Albacete. The
visitors levelled the scores three times, but Raúl Ivars got the winner
near the end. Ciudad Murcia kept their hopes of going up alive with a
1-0 win over Hércules, Kome getting the only goal soon after the
break. And Lleida and Real Murcia shared the points in a 1-1
draw, Diego Alonso equalising in the last minute after Rubén had given
the home side the lead. (18.03.06) |
