Transfer rumours
A surprisingly quiet week in
the transfer market, and it seems that for once clubs have got their shopping
in early. Normally the "mañana" syndrome prevails in Spain, with a mad
rush to make those last minute signings as the deadline approaches. Very few
bargains are left on the shelves though, and the main news this week was about
possible summer signings, with Valencia all but tying up Pernía,
Barcelona thinking about Forlán as a possible replacement for Larsson
(and Eto'o if Chelsea have their way!) in case the Henry option doesn't work
out, and Villarreal themselves renewing their interest in Nihat and Poulsen in
the event that Forlán and Riquelme move on. The winter transfer window
closes next Tuesday evening, and (barring last minute surprises) the only big
club who could make a move are Deportivo, who need a replacement for the
injured Valerón (and maybe even for Víctor if he moves to
Liverpool!). (28.01.06) |
