Second division, day 20
The top two, Xerez
and Recreativo, continue to outdistance the rest, and they shared the
points in a 1-1 draw on Sunday lunchtime. Ismael gave the hosts the lead twenty
minutes from the end, but Rosu saved a point for their local rivals late on.
The result leaves Lucas Alcaraz's side five points clear at the top, ensuring
them the honorary title of winter champions.
Other than the first two
teams the rest of the league is wide open, with only nine points separating the
last promotion spot from the first relegation spot. Valladolid edged
back up to third despite being held to a 3-3 draw by Racing Ferrol, last
week's incumbents Almería falling to a 1-0 defeat at
Lleida. Levante are level with them both though on 31 points
after drawing 1-1 at Lorca, and Sporting Gijón and
Elche are just a point behind them after splitting the points in a 2-2
draw.
Good results though for most
of the bottom sides, with Castellón finally climbing out of the
relegation spots after beating Castilla 3-1. With their match kicking
off later, that result left Tenerife temporarily down in the bottom
four, but they bounced back with a 3-1 victory over Real Murcia, their
first win in 13 games. The last two also met, Numancia coming from
behind to win 2-1 against Málaga B, who ended the weekend four
points adrift at the foot of the table. (15.01.06)
Three games were played on
Saturday in the second division, with Nàstic moving up to within
two points of the promotion spots after beating Hércules 0-1.
Ciudad Murcia and Albacete drew 0-0, and Eibar won 3-1
against Poli Ejido to move out of the bottom four. (14.01.06)
