Second division - day 15
A high scoring weekend in
the second division, with 34 goals in all between the eleven games. There were
none at all though in the match between Recreatvo and Málaga
B, although the Huelva based side still hold on to second spot behind
Xerez. Almería's run up the table came to an end after they lost
3-1 to an Albacete side who started the day in the relegation zone, and
Levante close to within a point of them after thrashing Ciudad
Murcia 6-0 earlier in the day with two goals from Riga.
Hércules were
also knocked off their perch by last week's bottom club Poli Ejido, the
3-1 defeat leaving them back in ninth spot. Elche move above them after
coming from behind to beat Numancia 4-1, thanks mainly to a Frankowski
hat-trick, and Sporting Gijón also move up after a David Karanka
strike gave them a 0-1 win at Eibar. Finally López Caro ended his
spell as manager of Real Madrid Castilla in style with a 0-1 victory at
Nàstic. As explained earlier, López will replace
Luxemburgo as first team coach with immediate effect. (04.12.05)
Leaders Xerez
extended their unbeaten league run to 13 games after drawing 1-1 at Racing
Ferrol. Lucas Alcaraz's side fell behind to a Baha strike in the first
half, but Camuñas equalised after the restart. Valladolid moved
up into the top three pending Sunday's games after a comfortable 0-4 win at
Lleida. Aduríz (currently linked to a possible move to Athletic
Bilbao) got the first three and made a fourth for Losada. Four goals as well
for Real Murcia, who beat bottom club Castellón 4-1 with
two from Iván Alonso to end a run of five games without a win, and
Lorca and Tenerife drew 1-1 in the other match on Saturday
evening. (03.12.05) |
