Transfer rumours

Once again the sporting press are reporting on possible signings this winter as they try to fill their pages during the international break. The window is due to open again for one month from the beginning of January, and the early movers are already starting to sound out the market. Betis and Real Sociedad are both looking for a striker after long term injuries to Oliveira and Kovacevic, and Barcelona's Maxi López is on their agenda. Barça may be reluctant to let him go right away though with Eto'o on Africa Cup duty for Cameroon in January. Real Madrid are also expected to sign on a couple of players, although much will depend on whether Luxemburgo is still in charge by the time the window opens. Santos have already said they will welcome him with open arms if he happened to be looking for a job in the next two or three weeks! (19.11.05)
