Second division, day 11
Recreativo
consolidated second spot after beating promotion rivals Real Murcia by
0-2 on Sunday lunchtime, Ramón and Xavi Jiménez getting the goals
in the second half. Murcia stay in the promotion spots though after their
closest rivals Valladolid and Hércules cancelled each
other out in a 1-1 draw. Víctor gave the locals the lead after the
restart, but a Moisés penalty saved a point for the Alicante based side.
Elche took advantage to draw level on points with both of them, Nino
opening the scoring in the first minute and Raúl Martín adding a
second late on in a 2-0 win over Málaga B.
Málaga B stay in the
bottom four, level on points with Lleida and with Poli Ejido, who lost
0-1 against their neighbours Almería. Castilla kept their
heads above water with a 0-0 draw at Racing Ferrol, even though several
of their best players were on first team duty. And points were shared as well
in the other two games, Sporting Gijón's Pablo Alvarez scoring
two late goals to save a 2-2 draw with Ciudad Murcia, and Lorca
and Numancia finishing 1-1 after Jorge Sánchez levelled Moreno's
earlier strike. (06.11.05)
Leaders Xerez moved
further ahead at the top of the table after a 0-1 win at Eibar,
Iván Rosado taking advantage of a defensive mistake to score the only
goal midway through the first half. Levante are back up to sixth after a
3-2 victory over local rivals Castellón, a match in which
Mané and Pepe Moré were in charge of their respective sides for
the first time. Tenerife lost ground on the leaders though after a 2-1
defeat at Lleida, who moved to the brink of escaping the relegation zone
as a result, and Albacete's recovery also took a blow after losing 1-4
at home to Nàstic. (05.11.05) |
